  Abstract

While the general application of pneumatic conveying can be achieved easily, there are many issues that contribute to their failure and high energy usage. Some of the unique applications and phenomena will be discussed presenting areas that still present challenging needs for a more fundamental understanding of the interaction of particles, gas and turbulence. Some recent experimental results and findings will be presented.
